PLEASE NOTE

The information on the BambooZoo site is as much as 10 years old and in the hobby much has been learned.   Though, I believe there is merit in keeping the site open.  There are many controversial issues presented in these pages.  Please view BambooZoo as a starting point in your research.

These beings are as complicated as we are and deserve more than a basic 5 paragraph care sheet to maintain their health and well being.

My passion has changed.  This is where I am today.

  THE TURTLES

The first picture is of the female slider we raised.  Mumsie, in the second picture, came to us through a fish store in London...already about 6 years of age, with the pyramiding to her shell.   ARK the painted before being banned from the pond.

Late into the evening.  Most times I now have an infrared bulb in the basking area for the turtles.  I find the shyer ones like to take in some basking at night when it is calmer.

The male slider enjoying some sun.  I did end up taking the lights from above the water...I went through a lot of bulbs due to turtle splash downs.

Mellow Yellow a Cooter we had until he was 3.   Mellow lived with the basilisks, day gecko and water dragons most of his life here.

Dozer ~ Ornate Wood Turtle ~ Apartment Complex

My worm colony may be endangered.  Dozer spends huge amounts of time digging up treasures!

The 2 new little Mississippi's join the big guys in the pond.
